Hair Extensions 101 : Hair Products

Just like your natural hair, hair extensions require a bit of love.
But too much of a good thing can quickly become a disaster. QUICKLY!

When you begin to use too many products like
curl enhancers, gels, leave in conditioners and grease, your hair will
become stiff from all the product buildup. Less is always more when it comes to
hair products.

After years and years of trial and error (and a lot of wasted money),
I've found a few products that work great!

Glycerin : I usually mix this with water and add it to my conditioners.
It leaves my natural hair feeling SUPER soft! I don't use this on my hair extensions.
It's a bit too heavy for all that right there!

Thermafuse Heatsmart Serum : My boss gifted me this product and I absolutely
LOVE it! It's not heavy and it smells delightful. For those of you who use a lot of heat,
heat protectants are a must.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture : I no longer use this product, but it
definitely gets the job done. They also have a wonderful leave in product which
helps battle frizz.

Herbel Essence Hello Hydration : I've been using this product for over a year
now. I honestly think I'm addicted to the smell of it. It's ridiculously intoxicating!
Beyond the smell, I love the way it makes my hair feel. This one is another must have.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) : Every once in a while, I like to
do an ACV rinse on my hair extensions. If you can handle the smell,
this product will instantly become a favorite.
It will enhance the natural shine and pattern of your hair extensions
leaving them fresh and bouncy.

I hope this was helpful!

  1. Hi Onye,
I have yet to purchase your hair extensions but I am dying to try it, for now I am using BBS extensions such as Bobbi Boss and Bohyme. My question to you is how do I use ACV on my extensions do I need to dilute it, can I do a ACV wash with them in my hair?
    Thanks.
